Welcome to Lift And Nourish. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, protect, and handle your personal information on our website Lift & Nourish and our mobile application “Lift & Nourish” (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Website Information

Personal Data: This may include your email address and name, which you provide when signing up for our newsletters.
Usage Data: Information on how the website is accessed and used, such as page views, site navigation patterns, and interactions with the site. This includes data collected through Google Analytics.

2.2 Mobile App Information

Account Information: Email address, username, and password when you create an account in our mobile app
Preferences: Your fitness focus, experience, reminder preferences and whether you have seen optional diary setup are saved in account-specific app storage on your device.
Health and Fitness Data: Exercise records, personal records, weight tracking, workout progress, custom programs, and food diary entries you choose to save. Diary records include food names, portions, calories, meal categories, diary dates, and protein, carbohydrate and fat amounts when provided. Optional calorie and macronutrient goals include their effective date; calorie goals also record whether you used the maintenance estimate.
Service Data: Backend request and error logs used to operate and troubleshoot the service, and feedback or support information you choose to send.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and technical specifications

2.3 Food Diary and Optional Goal Guide

Saved diary entries and calorie/macronutrient goals are linked to your account in our AWS backend so you can log food and view daily, weekly and monthly history.
Copies of diary/goal records, pending changes and recently added foods and selected catalogue foods are stored on your device. Pending changes sync when connectivity and your authenticated session are available.
Catalogue search terms are sent to our backend to find matching reference foods. Nutrition values are estimates; check the portion, preparation and current food label before saving.
The optional maintenance guide calculates on your device. Age, height, weight, equation and activity answers stay in the open form and are discarded when you leave it. Only a calorie goal you explicitly review and save, its effective date and its source are stored as a goal. You can log food without a goal or skip the guide.
The guide is intended for eligible adults aged 19–78, has exclusions explained in the form, and does not provide a medical diagnosis or prescribe weight loss.

4.1 Website Data

Website data is stored securely using industry-standard practices
Google Analytics data is processed according to Google’s privacy policy

4.2 Mobile App Data

AWS Services: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for secure data storage
Transmission and Cloud Storage: Connections to the application backend use HTTPS. AWS storage uses its configured encryption at rest.
Device Storage: iOS and Android sign-in tokens use the operating system’s secure storage. Fitness records, local preferences and pending changes use app storage so they remain available for synchronization; this is separate from secure token storage. The web app uses browser storage. Protect access to your device and browser, and avoid clearing app data while changes are pending.
Authentication: Secure login using AWS Cognito
Access Control: Strict access controls limit who can view your data

5. Google Analytics (Website Only)

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to collect, monitor, and analyze data about your usage of our website. This helps us understand and improve user experience.
Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit our site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to visiting our site.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google.
You can opt-out of Google Analytics using Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies (Website Only)

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and hold certain information, including for Google Analytics.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier.

8.1 Access and Control

View Your Data: Access your personal information through our website or mobile app
Update Information: Modify your profile and preferences
Delete Account: Use Settings → Delete Account or the instructions on our account deletion page. Deletion removes the account’s active diary, goal and fitness records through our backend deletion flow. Completing in-app deletion also clears that account’s local app caches and pending changes on the device. An email deletion request cannot immediately erase copies on an offline device; contact us if you need help with local copies. Operational logs, backups where retained, and support correspondence are managed separately and may not be erased at the same time. Contact us about retained information; we do not promise immediate erasure of every backup or log copy.

9. Your Data Protection Rights

You have certain data protection rights, including the right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
For our mobile app, we use AWS services for data storage and authentication.
When the app loads an image from an external host, that host receives ordinary network information such as your IP address. These image requests do not include saved diary entries or goal-guide answers. Bundled images are included with the app instead of requested from an external food-image host.

11. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our website and mobile app are intended for people aged 13 and over. They are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and remove it.

13. International Users

Our production application backend uses Amazon Web Services in the Europe (Ireland) region, eu-west-1, for account authentication and fitness-data storage.
Our website and web app are delivered through Cloudflare and Amazon CloudFront. These services, Google Analytics on the website, and Google or Apple when you choose their sign-in options may process information in other countries. The location of our application backend does not mean all service-provider processing takes place in Ireland.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
